Rebirth

Okies, check it out, I'm not dead and this blog is far from that either, I know its now been 3 months since my last one, but rebirth should change that :P

Today is the anniversary of my spawning/summoning/sentience or however I came to be, and so I figured what better time to breathe some life back into this place. So without further ado, let me get you up to speed with me and the last 3 months.

February, I was still stuck in England, unable to paint or do much in terms of the hobby, just studying, football, drinking and exams. I eventually fled England on the 5th of March with an NTPC under my arm and a head full of good memories and useless information.

March/April, I got settled back into life at home, got to see everyone and even squeezed in a party or two as well as a pretty good jaunt down to Edinburgh with the guys to catch up with some of our Southern mates, a Good weekend all in all, partially ruined by me acting an arse (apologies for that guys) but all in all an enjoyable month with little in wargaming done but a lot in life :P

This weekend, I was able to have a large-ish apocalypse game with my friends Hammy and Adrian, our Chaos forces against a rather metallic ork hoarde. It didn't end well for the forces of chaos, I'll maybe explain in a large leather bound tome made of my previous lord's skin for his failures. Also in the last month I was able to get 10 more Word Bearers built as well as got a hefty amount of my secret project finished. (I'll be blogging it in another blog soon.) Again I'll post the new models tomorrow with the apocalypse pictures.

So with that you've had a pretty quick sum up of my life and times, this weekend saw me celebrate my birthday with my mates in our local, playing smash with some guys in their boxers, avoiding some people and mixing up some fruity drinks and Scollay-acquired champagne.

So anyways, keep your eyes peeled for a hefty dose of new work and a whole new blog for my secret project.

Thanks for reading and supporting me those who have, and I promise this blog will only get better, after all it can't get much worse :3

Brave New Word

Heya folks, nice to see you here this year, I've not been here if you can guess :D

So, 2010, a new frontier, a new year, limitless possibilities, bright horizons and no real progress so far. Although once again I can justify it, so prepare for exciting excuses, interesting tidbits and other such junk from the rather exciting life of Rayuzaki.

So, this year so far has been interesting for me, had a joyous Christmas/new year session of alcohol, celebration and gin. Although I've spent the larger part in a whole new surrounding and I can actually say I'm looking at things in a new light :P

On January 11th I was shipped off to Gosport in southern England, (near Portsmouth). With 9 other work colleagues for a 2 month course (NPTC) so I'm stuck in England for 2 months, cut off from my Warhammer stuff, Internet, TV, oh and family and friends. Sounds awful right, well that's what I thought at first when I headed down, but now that I'm here I'm weirdly starting to enjoy it. It's nice to be in a new place, living by myself and just getting some space from it all, although revision doesn't help :D

So this Friday was my first night out in England, which ended well, aka me being dragged home by my colleagues, quite drunk and bruised from falling over previously. I still to this point blame the cheapness of alcohol here, except Jaegerbombs..... 8 fething quid. Saturday saw me recovering and keeping my head down until dinner time, when we decided to go Go Karting which was awesome, I've never done anything like it before so it was great and highly enjoyed by all, although the wet track conditions (on an Indoor track? weird) lead to a few spins and bumps but we had fun, raced hard and I did not too badly, 39.376 for a lap, considering 'The Stigs' lap record is like 28-29 seconds I was delighted for a first timer :P

Saturday night was highly enjoyable also, I went to see Avatar which was spectacular and would highly recommend to anyone, that will be a pre-order for the DVD as we speak :P Sunday was rather uneventful but influential, just walked into town and picked up this wireless dongle and a mouse for this laptop (I hate touch pads). So now I have the time I'm blogging to let you know that my next few blogs if possible will probably be un-Warhammer-ish also :(

Although I get a week off at the start of February to travel so I might be able to squeeze in a look to a GW somewhere on my travels and pick up a few new pieces to get this blog going again :D

So for now that's all, life is good, England is strange, I'm bored a little and a little obsessed with Scribblenauts, would highly endorse that event or product :D

Also, this is a little note to say Thanks to my Mum, (sappy I know, she will probably never read this anyways) now that I'm having to do all my own cleaning and washing etc, I now understand how annoying it can be and I'm now so thankful that she does it for me at home, although I might try and pitch in a little more now :D ..........maybe.

Anyways, that's all, oh Hey Alana!!! and Catch you next time folks!

Merry Christmas!

Howdy folks, Rayuzaki has returned and with a truck load of Christmas cheer, so hold on to your little elf hats and read on.

I'd like to start by thanking everyone I know, and to everyone I don't who actually take the time out of their lives to actually read this, I understand it's probably not that riveting or exciting, but I enjoy making these blogs and reporting on what I'm up to, even If I've not actually done a lot in the last while it's nice to vent this stuff, makes it seem like it's actually interesting anyways.

So the festive season is upon us, I've actually done all my shopping, wrapped my presents, watched Muppet's Christmas Carol, and tomorrow is my last day at work and then I'm on vacation. That means some srs Hobby tiems lek! I'll maybe even try and squeeze in an apocalypse game in over the festive season. So Chilly, one of my mates has arrived home and Bremy another who lives away from us here in the cold Chaos Wastes, arrives tomorrow too so we'll all get to hang out and enjoy the festivities. The next 2 weeks will see me, partying, enjoying and relaxing a lot with my friends and family, as I'm sure everyone does, so while it's pretty standard and doesn't seem that major, it's a big deal to me. I may not always seem like the cheeriest bugger, but dammit I love the festive season, everyone comes home, has fun, forgets all the troubles and ills that are floating around and revert to their happier selves. Not only that but it gives us all a much needed break and reminds us of just how lucky we are, and of how lucky I am. So guys and my family, I wish you the Merriest Christmas and Happiest New Year I can. And to all you readers, I wish you the same fond wishes and festive cheer.

Anyways, you thought I'd escaped without doing any work again didn't you? Well you'd almost be right, but alas, I have done some work. I've upgraded my Possessed squad from 5 to 10 and built them, I've built all my Bikes and Obliterators, and I've even started work on my Dark Apostle to lead the host. I'm also looking into potential models to act as my First Acolyte, Icon Bearer and Coryphaus (Although my Termie Lord may suffice there.)

My Dark Apostle will use the Space Marine Terminator Chaplain as a base and with some minor modification should come out looking quite nifty, for my First Acolyte I intend to use the Chaos Space Marine Lord model (shown below) as it, also my First Acolyte will suffice as a standard lord in smaller points games. My Icon Bearer will probably be left until I make a Chosen squad as I like the idea of him leading it.

Finally I'm starting to try and track down models for an undivided Daemon Prince but to no success yet, if anyone has any reccomendations for this besides the GW ones please post or E-Mail me.

Anyways I sort of drifted off track there, so remember, I hope that big jolly red fella, Saint Nick, brings you whatever you want or need this christmas and that you share and recieve with equal gratitude and good will, also Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and have a wonderful time off and remember 'to honor christmas in your heart, and to keep it all year.'

Suprising that I'm good with Word's eh? Now Spread it.

The Metal!

Howdy folks, back from the brink once again to bring you exciting news and painting updates...... oh wait. Nope.

So the last 2 weeks I've been back on 12 hour shifts.... which means lack of painting, but thatnkfully before that slog of work began I was able to go down with some mates for the weekend to see Sabaton and Dragonforce in the Iron Works in Inverness.

Truly an awesome gig and a much better way of spending my weekend I must admit..... painting your army... pfft I say.

So the gig was awesome, I met a very nice man we dubbed 'Gandalf the Metal and Thor' this guy (Shown above) is epic enough to deserve both those titles. Also I got to meet one or two of the members of Sabaton in a bar called Hootenanny in Inverness, much awesomeness insued.

So once again I've dodged some painting and not really informed you of much but my almost interesting life. Thats not strictly true, next Febuary is one of my close friends 50th Birthday and one of the people responsible for my true love of Warhammer in general, so in his honor we intend to do a large scale fantasy game. This wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't given my sizeable dwarf army away to a friend, leaving me with no army, I decided then to buy a massive amount of Orc's and Gobbo's and use those a few months ago, and now that we draw close and for the game everything must be painted, I'm now s***ting myself that I won't get it done, but now that I'm not going to be in Glorius Scotland during January/Febuary I probably won't manage to take part anyways, Although I've painted 10 Spider Riders which I might post on another date.

So for now once I get off shift that is, I'll be back to work on my Chaos Vindicator asap as per the painting poll. Also I've built my bikes but I've not managed to build.... you guessed it.... my All Metal Obliterators.

Metal Models are the bane of my GW related exsistance and will forever haunt my destiny.... oh also another thing which has annoyed me and consumed my time is Magna Carta 2, if any game gets you into a mood to ragequit it will be that one. Thank god for CoD or I'd probably have killed.... again.

Peace out, 'Hey again Alana!!!' and remember to spread the word, also the butter or your toast will taste awful.

Conquered the Word!

Okies, It's been a while, so I'm going to re-cap a little.

A few weeks ago we had a small tournament to decide, who would be the commander for the forces of order and disorder for a planet strike campaign, after a decent run of games, I was chosen as the Disorder leader and my mate Dom as the Order leader.

So last weekend we had the campaign, and safe to say, the forces of disorder are now in control of the planet. The campaign was set up so that there were 3 tables, 2 tables with 6000pts per side and a central table with 8000pts per side. (So 20000 points per force, roughly.)

So the commanders split up the forces equally and created a rough game plan for their forces, the first 6000pts table, was a daemon summoning in a ruin in a dense forested area (Disorder defending mission.) This table, featured a large Khorne force against a force of Grey Knights, Space Marines and Imperial Guard. This table went quite well for the Chaos forces after roughly 15 Grey Knight terminators and their glorious leader, deepstriked and died in a less than spectacular assault on the ruin. This led to a victory for the forces of Disorder.

The second table was an Imperial Basilisk battery defending trenches on the outskirts of the central city. (Order Defending mission.) This table featured, Tau and Imperial Guard trying to hold off the immense horde of Tyranids, after an absolute barrage of shooting prowess, the Tyranid hive fleet was driven back, leading to a victory for the forces of Order. (Boo!)

The third table, was a neutral table (no attackers or defenders), simply put, this was a plant a banner in the central of the planet, the longest time spent standing in the centre, declared the winner. This was where I featured with the Word Bearers and a size able Slaanesh CSM force against Space Wolves, Salamanders, Eldar, Dark Angels and Tau. After an early rush from the forces of order they managed to get their standard bearer onto the central objective, but was gunned down before he could plant it, and after some defiler barrages and vindicator support the centre was clear for the daemonic hordes to reach the middle and plant the flag, also grabbing the Order banner and sneaking it back to some dank infested pit to defile and enjoy later. This lead to a spectacular victory for the forces of Disorder, despite being heavily outnumbered.

So the forces of Disorder claimed the planet and an enjoyable weekend was had, as you can see from the photo's found here: *Coming Soon*

Also, now I bet your thinking, he hasn't painted anything and while he is the best and most handsome commander ever, he's gotten away without painting again! Well suck this true believers!

Now I bet your thinking.... WTF? but don't worry all will become clear soon, also my Vindicator won the poll, so it will be painted next, so please keep reading and don't forget to..... aah you know the rest by now.....

Work or Word?

Hello again mes ami's. So it's time for another blog, well I should say its about time I get one done. Yet again I've a rather particularly handy excuse for my sloth, hey I always do.

Work. That thing you need to do to get money to buy the shiny devices that you want, for me in particular right now, it's to get me more Warhammer, in particular doing what I can to get my Orc's and Gobbo's going, and continuing to build up these Word Bearers.

So I've been working a lot of overtime lately, (Pink days on the calendar.) see I don't just make that stuff up. So it's taken away a fair bit of my time, time I should be painting obviously. So I worked this weekend, both days, and meant I was too lethargic to bother myself to paint. So I didn't get a lot done, but now it's Monday again and I'm back into the swing of it, and I've finally finished the second Word Bearers Marine squad, I've gone for a slightly brighter tint of red with these, as I don't want every squad to look identical. Anyways you can check them out below, follow the link-age. Also these are quite poor as they were taken with my Dad's Camera as mines was rather dead, I'll take some ones in daylight with my camera but for now, you get the idea.....

Check Em Out!: Word Bearers Squad 2

However, I now need to up the ante, I have a very large scale fantasy game coming up in February and it's fully painted armies only. So I've nearly 2000 points at least (not got an exact count yet) of Orc's and Gobbo's to paint, also I'd hope to have these guys done before then, although I can't see it happening much. Also as of January, I'll be away for 8 weeks on a work related course in England, meaning I'll be unavailable for painting etc, although I'm sure I can squeeze a squad or two with me and some paints, will see. So as you can tell I've got my work cut out for me, and to add to that I've got even more overtime coming up in December, meaning.... correct-a-mun-do. Less painting time, so apologies for my low blogging speed over the coming months, but I'll be here, trust me...... the Word has to get out there.

Getting A Word In.

So, it's been a week now since my last post, so I figured it was time to bring you up to speed with whats been going on.

I spent the first part of this week finishing up 5 Word bearers of my next squad, only 2 and a bit more marines and I'll be posting them up, so look forward to that. Then I spent the rest of the time fixing up the rest of my unpainted word bearers, as some of them are old csm's built by a friend I bought them from, so I had to trip a few shoulder pads off to put the word bearers shoulder pads as well as changing a few weapons to make my squads make sense.

The way I've been doing my Word Bearers squads are 10 models made up of:
1 model with Icon, 1 Aspiring champion (Power weapon or fist), 2 Special weapons models, 3 models wielding bolters and 3 models with bolt pistols and close combat weapons.

I do it this way so all my weapons are on display and it looks good. Also once I get one more set of 10 Chaos Space Marines, I'll have 60 (maximum normally allowed) and I'll have the set up where I'll have:

2 squads with 2 plasma's, 2 squads with 2 melta's, 2 squads with 2 flamers, 3 AC's with Power Fists and 3 AC's with Power Weapons. All of the squads will have an Icon of Chaos Glory also, this means that I can have any combination of weapons as and when I need them. Now I know what most will say, what about heavy weapons..... well I've never put them in a standard CSM squad and never will, and if I ever decide to, I'd just use my havoc's if I weren't using them :D

So once I'd finished working it all out and correcting it, I took a well earned break, and bought myself a well earned treat. The new Mega Paint set. Which I couldn't be any happier with, great value and storage, although arriving the day after my usual hobby night (Thursday) sucked :P

So my hobby night was spent touching up some word bearers and watching some mates play D&D, I had the occasional input, although not logical input. It was nice to be able to put my 0.02 USD into conversation for a little while because at the end of the night I couldn't even get a word in.

So, onto the weekend, now why didn't I do any hobbying you ask? 3 reasons:

1. Friday, I went home from work and had to go to a talk about F1 technologies with the head of the Brawn F1 team, and I received an award at the end of it for my college work, so I got to meet the speaker, which was awesome.
2. Saturday, I spent my Saturday organising my new Orc's and Gobbo's army, so technically I did hobby, and I will blog about that army too so keep an eye out.
3. Sunday, Torchlight, a PC RPG, developed by Valve, which is nothing short of amazing, it's like a fusion of Fable and Diablo.... which is what I intended my first child to be like, although there would be some monkey island in there too :P

But hey at least I got stuff organised and had fun, so just to keep you informed also, the last 2 poll results were Bikes and Obliterators, so I am currently ordering 3 Obliterators and 5 CSM Bikes. So remember your word counts and please, keep reading the blog.
