Blue Days.

Hey everyone, I've returned, and trust me I've been busy to a decent extent but lets just go over a few things first.

Every day I go to work, roughly get there for 7:30 am, the first thing I do, is pick up my blue highlighter and mark on my little calendar that I made it to work that day, then I knuckle down and then get on with it. If I did a similar thing for my warhammer projects...... I wouldn't have many blue days.

My excuse this time is actually due to Green Day. (Took me a while to think of a gimmick for this post, worked well huh?)

So I was away for a 5 day weekend with some mates to see Green Day live in concert at the Glasgow SECC. People wonder why I don't seem to get a lot done, but when you have the opportunity to see stuff like that, why work right? I've not blogged on this due to the fact it drives away from my hobby blogs, also because this blog done by a friend is much better than I can do, so check it out here! (Also this guy got me the tickets for my birthday and hope he realises the ridiculous amount that meant to me, Also a mate asked for a shout out on this blog so....... Hey Alana!)

So since I've last been in touch, I've managed to complete my first full squad of Word Bearers, this squad is one of my 'Hammer' squads, basically it carries 2 Melta's and an Aspiring Champion with a Power Fist, so I can tear apart tanks or elite units easier.

Check them out here: Full Word Bearer Squad!

Also just to prove that my polls are making their impact, here is the constructed photo's of the Predator, you voted I should buy and equipped with the weapons you told me to equip (Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons) check that out here: Predator Built!

I'll be in touch again soon with this squads completed rhino, also I'll be buying a squad of Chaos Bikers at the next available point, so thanks for voting! so please keep reading/voting and remember Spread the Word!

Death's Song.

Hey guys, just a quick post to say not to expect much of a blog this week, kinda busy/down this week.

The polls came in last week, my next cult troop for my Word Bearers force are indeed the Slaanesh Noise Marines, so I went out and got myself the conversion kit and a squad to give it to, but obviously I'll only be using 6 of them, so I don't know what the other guys may be used for yet, probably some conversion or alternate Aspiring Champions in my squads so I can change weapons etc easier.

In some weird way I guess it's kinda fitting that Noise Marines were the choice, As i've just spent the last hour making up a cd for a funeral. My dear old Nana Rose, passed away on friday, (hence why i'm on a bit of a downer.) So I guess these Noise Marines will kinda be in her honour I guess, they'll always let me remember one of the nicest people I've ever met or will probably ever know. If you can't tell, I'm not good when it comes to deaths in real life, especially when it's someone so close to my heart, so I'll just end this rather sad note by saying that I hope she's resting peacefully and that she'll never be forgotten.

So anyways my next poll is up and I'll try and post my first squad of word bearers and rhino at some point soon-ish.

On a slightly happier note, I spent my weekend playing Necromunda with all my mates at our local club, with some hilarious stories and pictures to tell, but i'll post those another time, least I've got an excuse this time rather than my general sloth :P

Games Day UK 09!

I know I know, about time right, anyways I'm gonna give you a rundown of my weekend as a whole rather than just the Games Day bits, as the whole thing is pretty Warhammer related, it also saves me having to blog elsewhere. (2 birds, one stone eh? better than 2 girls, 1 cup right? xD)

The photo slide show of the whole weekend are available and basically are in order so reading this and looking at them should make sense. Games Day Uk Photo's

Friday 25th September: Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

I awoke up at roughly 6am on Friday, you take a look at the first photo now and you'll understand why, I was sure Jinky was more excited than me but then at 6am who the hell can be excited? :P

After a hearty breakfast (Toast and Irn-Bru (the Irn-Bru is important due to England's lack of it)), I finished packing up, trying to be as space efficient as possible as I intended on filling that bag to the brim with goodies. Anyways with my bags packed, stomach full and Dog somewhat confused and excited I headed to the glorious travel centre of the Highlands (Wick Airport).

Here me and Adrian met up with Alex, and we boarded our almost private plane to Edinburgh. It was nearly private due to the fact so few people were on it, although not that private as that was possibly the single loudest plane I've ever been on, not to mention I was still vibrating when I got off of it. We arrived in Edinburgh to find one of the most fascinating things we have ever seen, a Ben and Jerry's machine oh and we saw the guy from Jurassic park (the guy in white suit and hat). After the relative excitement and a few 'Are you looking forward to Games Day?' jokes, we were on our way to glorious Birmingham.

Mission Accomplished! We arrived soundly in Birmingham and after a small but confusing monorail journey we discovered another to add to our party, Chilly and his finely styled hair ^^

Gentlemen, like Gentlemen the first thing we did on arrival to our hotel (Holiday Inn Express) we headed to the pub next door, The Little Owl. After a decent feed and a large portion of alcoholic beverages and awaited for the final member of the party, Bremy. Upon arrival, we continued to drink and met some interesting people from England including some random guy called Luke Abberely and a nice waitress called Heather who wouldn't let us take a photo of her or let Chilly bed her.... damn shame really, blog would have been a bit more interesting if I'd had photo's like that ^^

After all that, we headed to bed, eager to get up and go through to Nottingham for a trip to Warhammer world, and so the weekend kicked off.

Saturday 26th September: Warhammer World, Bugmans Brew and Orkses too.

On Saturday we awoke to a fine breakfast meal, It was your usual help yourself type set up, so of course we filled our boots, but for some Chilly nicked my toast, regardless of the ample amount that was available, I nearly died of starvation later...... not cool man.

We then caught our train through with relative confusion, I'll never understand British Rail, then again I can't complain I don't understand most things. So our hour long trip on the train consisted of us, fighting like children, cracking a few jokes about one of our mates sister (intercourse.), and relatively talking about the hobby and planning on all the crazy crap we'd buy the second we'd get there. After a small trip through Beeston we were there, if you can't see the hilarity in a name like Beeston your probably a good bit more mature/English than us (the accent makes it hilarious.)

We arrived and found Warhammer relatively easily, I also found out on the way I was paid on Friday..... more money.... more crap to buy. Much like any respectable hobbyists on our arrival to Warhammer World we were immediately drawn into.... Bugmans Brewery. (Priorities people :P)

So we spent the day viewing the exhibits, talking to other gamers and staff, and generally having a good time, seeing the model museum makes me feel both impressed and sad..... my efforts seem so crap now :P The actual scale Space Hulk Storm Bolter impressed me muchly by the way. After our wander round, we had our meal, which seemed like the longest anyone has ever waited for food, so while we waited we continued to look around and Adrian bought the Ork codex for 40k and I left my mark in the Guestbook in the museum (check photo's). Adrian was one of the people who got me back into the hobby, he's been bored with his pursuit of pleasure (Slaanesh Army) and decided he'd start something new, he'd been eyeing up the Eldar for a while, something he's always wanted to do, so he bought the Ork Codex. If that doesn't make sense to you then I've little else to say but..... lol.

After another worried phone call to our Gaffer (Dave) about Games day tickets and online booking we headed back to the railway station and got some Purple rain in Wetherspoons and played some Time Crisis, as you do at the station these days. After which we headed back to the hotel and continued to dram and Chilly attempted to once again allure a fine young wench with his clearly romantic repertoire and subtlety (of a thrown brick, on fire with a knife attached.)

Anyways later after a few more drams, we retired to My/Adrian's room, had a bit of banter, fought over a bed and tried to sober Alex up, if you'd like more information there is a video of this I may post later ;)

Sunday 27th September: Games Day UK, Stupid Questions and Scrap Daemon!

The day of reckoning was finally upon us, after a sharpish breakfast and a shuttle bus through to the NEC, we were at Games Day, about 2 hours early, but that put us in amongst the first 100 or so people into the event. So straight away we tackled the Forgeworld stands, and other sale stands, the rest of the day was spent seeing the various exhibits, entering the Scrap Daemon competition to make a chaos champion. I couldn't find any Chaos bits so I made a wounded Space Marine Standard Bearer, check him out, he's a sneak peek of my next project ;)

I proceeded to buy some Space Wolves stuff for a mate, (Wolf Pack and Termies) as well as Space Wolf t-shirts for both of us. I also bought my Predator, a random box of blisters for a £5, an extra Games Day figure, a Death Korps commissar from FW and thanks to a rather attractive girl at the White Dwarf stand a subscription to White Dwarf. I'm weak ;). I'd explain a lot more of what happened but I think the pictures say more and this blog is already pretty large. Oh I met James Swallow too, my favourite Black Library writer and he signed my Eisenstein :)

I'd planned on buying more (Warhound Titan) but the queues were ridiculous and hard to get around so I just set myself the task of seeing the exhibits and games, and just immersing myself in the culture rather than blowing all my money, after all I can do that from home xD

Anyways, we concluded Games Day with more Purple Rain and saw Chilly off...... the trip was coming to an end..... Sad Days.

Monday 28th September: 4am? There's such a time?

Honest to god, I did not know there was a 4am..... but the real question is why.... who'd want to be up at this crazy time? Well us really, because we had to book in 2 hours before our flight. After a rather sleepy set of flights and a full read of the new White dwarf we were home, and I had one last gift to give, a Relentless Shot to Adrian for the drive home...... to keep him awake and just to see what would happen to him. With that sugar induced car ride, I was home, it was midday, I open the door to the house and sure as eggs is eggs, Jinky was waiting for me along with the tattered remains of the box holding the GW stuff I'd ordered pre-games day.... fun times xD

Sorry to have rattled on, as I say this could have been much longer, but I'll let the pictures do the talking for me. Thanks for reading and I'm currently getting to work on the Word Bearers as we speak. So keep an eye out for a new blog soon.
